First off, I have to say that I want to really like this product. I've been an amateur/semi-pro photographer for many years. I used to shoot with film back in the day, and made the switch to digital reluctantly. These days, I use a pro-grade Canon rig with point-and-shoot Sony as backup. But I don't always have my cameras on me. So, I find myself taking a lot of snaps with my iPhone.

This lens kit (which is small enough to ride in my messenger bag all of the time) adds a world of versatility to the camera I always have close at hand. In the week that I've had it, I've already taken countless snaps with it. The quality of the glass is really quite good (none of the extreme chromatic aberration I was afraid of), and the lenses do pretty much what you'd expect them to do.

That said, there are a few cons you should know about before you buy the Olloclip. First, the wide-angle lens really likes to come unscrewed from the macro lens, so you'll need to be careful when... Read more

Works just as advertised, I am very pleased.

1. Put a house on the market and used it to take interior room pictures using the wide angle lens. The realtor was so impressed, she used my photos over the professional ones.

2. The is NO loss in clarity sliding a lens over the existing iPhone 4/4S lens. Pictures come out clear and bright as can be.

3. The fit onto the iPhone is very secure - but it cannot go over a case. This can be a bit of a hassle.

4. The fish-eye lens is interesting, but not very practical for me. Took an interesting picture of an entire gymnasium. Got the whole thing in the picture, but other than for fun, I don't see the practical use.

5. Have not used the close-up yet - but I experimented with it a bit. You can get "VERY" close to the object being shot (1/3-1/2 inch) and the image is clear as can be.

6. The item is rugged. It has been dropped a few times and nothing was damaged.

I shoot portraiture, and have a fairly sophisticated point-n-shoot which I like when I don't want a full DSLR rig. I use my Lumix LX-5 for both it's wide angle and close up (macro) capability.

The Olloclip lens has helped me consider the iPhone 4s as an additional point-n-shoot since it is already with m, primarily because of the wide angle aspects.

When we went to Europe the wide angle feature of the LX-5 was what came into play the most because of all the architectural situations, and with the Olloclip, I can bring that back into the mix with even less gear along.

The fisheye is gimmicky to me, and the close up is REALLY close (just a few mm). You will have to work to steady it for close ups actually unless you brace yourself up against something, or carry a small iPhone tripod of some sort. Still, it has it's uses too...and I'm glad it's along for the ride. I'd have loved an option for Wide on one side and Close on the other and lose the... Read more
