This lens is capable of getting great shots given the right circumstances, and for under $200 it's great. - Nice long zoom compared to the standard kit lens - IS is always nice Cons: - Focus issues occasionally in lower light. Sometimes just won't focus, or takes a long time to focus. Haven't noticed this issue at all with the 18-55. - Stiff zoom. Hard to get quick, precise changes in zoom during fast action and during a long event the zooming actually gets a little tiring (18-55 has a much smoother zoom). - Overall noisier than the 18-55, not terrible, but definitely louder. - Photos don't seem as clear as the 18-55.
