It's good quality material and looks authentic. There's even a nice rubber grip that is actually a rubber grip and not fake at all. I fooled a friend with this when he thought for sure I was going to ruin a $350 lens by putting it in the microwave. :) But there is a flaw that should be fixed. The very nice top DOES NOT ATTACH. Yep, it just sits there on top and can come off any time. In fact, it's rather loose. There is only a small plastic ring that fits down into the cup that does not screw on, nor does it have a rubber pressure fitting that makes it stay. I bought it for my father, who is an experienced and avid photographer, and it was very well received. He was impressed with the detail and likeness of the cup to the lens of which it is a replica.
